Jiyoung Kim
Jiyoung Kim simultaneously shows the opposing concepts of presence and absence, using the flatness of painting and the three-dimensionality of installation. She raises the question of whether what is perceived exists or has been determined to exist.
The house, one of the fundamental elements of human life, contains joy, anger, love, and sorrow. It is a symbolic place embracing the self. As the intimate space is omitted, the records of the time and space that whoever has existed as ‘I’ are deleted. Some will find themselves in a situation where they roam the surface in search of the inner side that reveals its subtle presence through its absence.
