Elspeth Lamb RSA is a Scottish artist who specialises in lithographic printing. Lamb studied at Glasgow School of Art, Manchester Metropolitan University and the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford. In 1986 Lamb went on a year-long research residency to the Tamarind Institute of Lithography at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.

Lamb taught at Edinburgh College of Art for 21 years, latterly as Head of the Department of Printmaking. She gave up her academic commitments in 1999 to allow more time for her practice and teaching workshops.

In 2000 Lamb undertook an international residency project, spending ten weeks in the village of Nagasawa, Japan, where she learned the Mokuhanga woodblock printing method. The influence of Japanese techniques and subject matter is clear in Lamb’s recent work.
