Origin Stories: Illustrated publication produced to accompany the exhibition
Earned with three referralsOur first exhibition celebrating our bicentenary, Origin Stories, explored the web of artistic relationships that have emerged through the evolution of art teaching in Scotland. The publication features a foreword by RSA Director Colin Greenslade, an essay by Head of Collections Sandy Wood on the Royal Scottish Academy, and Where the Story Begins, a genealogy of Scottish art by RSA Documentation Officer Robin H. Rodger. It also includes Pigments and People, an essay by Stuart Mackenzie RSA.

Designed to celebrate our 200th Anniversary, this sturdy tote bag is made of 100% cotton and is printed in the UK. The image is printed on one side with the RSA 200 logo on the reverse.

Road to Dun Aengus: Screenprint by Richard Demarco HRSA
Earned with ten referralsThis screenprint was issued as a loose insert with the 10 Dialogues: Richard Demarco, Scotland and the European Avant Garde deluxe catalogue, published by the RSA to accompany an exhibition of the same name held in the Academy from 27 November 2010 to 9 January 2011. Limited run of 80 produced. Each unframed print is signed by the artist and numbered.

Terms and Conditions
Eligibility
- Offer only available to current members of the RSA Friends.
- A successful referral is defined as a new membership taken up by an individual or couple who have not previously held membership with RSA Friends, or whose membership has lapsed for 12 months or more.
- New members who join as a single Friend will count as one referral, and new members who join as duo Friends will count as two referrals.
Referral Period
- The referral scheme runs from 9 May 2026 to 31 December 2026, inclusive.
- Referrals made outside of this period will not be eligible.
- RSA reserves the right to extend, shorten or terminate the referral period at any time.
Submitting a Referral
- New members must provide the referrer's details (your name and membership number) either at the point of registration or within 30 days of signing up.
- Referral details submitted after this 30 day window will not be accepted.
Rewards
- Each individual referrer may earn a maximum of one of each reward type.
- All rewards are subject to availability and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
- RSA reserves the right to substitute any reward with an alternative of equal or greater value at its discretion, without prior notice.
- Rewards have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred or sold.
- Rewards will be fulfilled within 4 weeks of the referral being confirmed as successful.
General
- Personal data collected through this scheme will be used solely for the purposes of administering new memberships, the referral programme and fulfilling rewards.
- RSA reserves the right to disqualify any referral it reasonably believes to be in breach of these terms.
- These terms and conditions may be updated at any time.
- Any disputes will be resolved at the sole discretion of RSA whose decision is final.
