Luca Guarino explores unreal spaces that reflect the uncanny seduction of digital media and how this affects our lives. His work collages a wide array of digital and traditional media to recontextualize disparate subjects and themes in ways that are equal parts bleak and playful.

The pieces on display explore a sense of emotional inertia experienced due to feeling static and passive while the world around us seems to be moving forward, and the incremental progress and setbacks while trying to move forward and be productive in these circumstances.

Luca Guarino graduated from Painting and Printmaking at The Glasgow School of Art in 2020 and is currently studying at The Royal Drawing School.
