Throughout 2026, the RSA is celebrating its bicentenary and 200 years of Scottish art and architecture. The occasion is being marked nationwide with RSA200: Celebrating Together, a year-long project bringing together over 120 partners, galleries and institutions for an extraordinary year of exhibitions, events and performances. PhotoDalkeith RSA200 is a highpoint for photography, shining a spotlight on Scotland’s pioneering role in the development of the medium.
PhotoDalkeith is an innovative partnership exhibition concept which aims to establish Dalkeith Palace as a showcase for Photography in Scotland. Connecting the stunning heritage setting of Dalkeith Palace with the medium of photography, of which Scotland was a significant early champion, the festival has built on themes of heritage, diversity and artistic innovation. Over the last three years we have engaged local and international communities creating space to explore established and new voices, changing perspectives and technologies, celebrating all that photography has to offer.
