Two exhibitions presented by the Scottish Contemporary Collective (SCCOCO) at Tighnabruaich Gallery:
Mach Squared
David Mach HRSA & Robert Mach
13 June – 5 July 2026
A major joint exhibition by brothers David Mach HRSA and Robert Mach.
Known for their bold, playful and deeply human approach to making, the Mach brothers share a lifelong creative dialogue that stretches from Fife to the international stage. This exhibition brings their practices together for the first time in Argyll, transforming Tighnabruaich Gallery into a space of energy, humour and reflection.
Expect large-scale sculptural works, collage, and mixed-media pieces that explore identity, pop culture, and the stories we tell about ourselves. Both artists challenge conventions of material and meaning — from Robert’s intricate constructions to David’s iconic assemblages and installations.
Mach Squared is a celebration of making, connection, and family — part of the RSA’s 200th anniversary programme honouring Scotland’s creative past and future.
Surface Tension
Lennox Dunbar RSA
5 September – 27 September 2026
Layers, marks, and meaning — the shifting surfaces of Lennox Dunbar RSA
Working across painting, collage and mixed media, Dunbar explores how we navigate the space between order and chance. His layered surfaces, marked by precision and intuition, invite viewers to look beyond structure and find beauty in the unpredictable. Bringing Dunbar’s distinctive visual language to Argyll’s Secret Coast, Surface Tension offers rare insight into an artist whose practice continues to shape and challenge contemporary Scottish painting.
The exhibition reflects SCCOCO’s commitment to connecting national artists with rural audiences, and to celebrating the diversity and depth of Scotland’s creative landscape. Surface Tension forms part of the RSA’s 200th anniversary programme — honouring Scotland’s artistic legacy while looking firmly to its future.
Tighnabruaich Gallery is an independent, artist-led space on Argyll’s Secret Coast, showcasing the best in contemporary Scottish art. Working through a unique model of fair, transparent commissions and artist reinvestment, the gallery supports sustainable careers and genuine collaboration.
Through the Scottish Contemporary Collective (SCCOCO), it offers mentoring from leading artists and national exhibition opportunities, connecting rural creativity with Scotland’s wider art community.
