This autumn we are celebrating the careers of Royal Scottish Academicians David Evans (1942-2020), Alexander Fraser (1940-2020), Kirkland Main (1942-2020), James Morrison (1932-2020) and Alan Robb (1946-2020).
The exhibition will showcase a selection of paintings from across their careers, highlighting a cross-section of movements of mid-late 20th Century painting – from the traditional to experimental, Pop Art to portraiture, abstract and representational. All five are recently lost to us but their legacy of teaching numerous generations of Scottish artists is testament to their impact and influence. The exhibition will include works from their studios, private family collections and the Collection of the Royal Scottish Academy.
