    We’re delighted to offer two limited-edition prints by Joyce W. Cairns PPRSA as part of A Personal Odyssey, our major exhibition celebrating the artist’s extraordinary career. Created especially for the exhibition, these etchings were produced at Peacock Printmakers in Aberdeen in collaboration with master printmaker Mike Waight.

     

    Joyce has a long and celebrated relationship with printmaking, developing a distinctive approach that showcases the energy of her painting practice. The Farewell saw Joyce return to a plate she had created some time ago but never previously editioned, while To the Lighthouse was created by drawing with a lithographic crayon directly onto a steel plate.

    South Elevation, RSA began as a large-scale painting created in situ by Kate Downie RSA during summer 2025 to mark the launch of RSA200. Working directly outside the Academy in Edinburgh, Downie captured the character and atmosphere of the RSA with a bold, expressive composition that marks a significant moment in our history.

     

    The original painting has been transformed into a limited edition etching at Glasgow Print Studio, where it was printed with support from Master Printmaker Alistair Gow. Created especially for our bicentenary celebrations, this signed limited edition is a rare opportunity to own a work that commemorates a landmark moment in our history while supporting our future.

    The Road to Dun Aengus by Richard Demarco HRSA was issued as a loose insert with the 10 Dialogues: Richard Demarco, Scotland and the European Avant Garde catalogue, published by the RSA to accompany an exhibition of the same name held in the Academy from 27 November 2010 to 9 January 2011.

     

    This exhibition marked the year of Richard Demarco's 80th birthday and the 40th anniversary of Strategy: Get Arts. Presented in the magnificent RSA Upper Galleries, it highlighted ten seminal relationships that Richard has had over the years both with Scottish artists and those from across Europe that he introduced to Scotland for the first time.
