    The Scottish Colourists Revealed

     

    See the Scottish Colourists as you’ve never seen them before in a new exhibition at Perth Art Gallery celebrating rare paintings by four of the most important Scottish artists of the 20th century, some of which have never before been on public display.

     

    Bringing together masterpieces by Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell RSA, John Duncan Fergusson, George Leslie Hunter and Samuel John Peploe RSA from across Scotland, we’re inviting visitors to discover exceptional paintings in an exhibition that offers a unique look into the intertwined legacies of these iconic artists.

     

    This exhibition has been generously supported by Lyon & Turnbull and Aviva, and includes work on loan from RSA Collections.

     

    Admission Fee: £6/£4.50

    Join us for a special in-conversation event exploring the enduring legacy of Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell, John Duncan Fergusson, George Leslie Hunter and Samuel John Peploe RSA.

     

    This engaging talk will see Rhona Corbett, Head of Museums and Collections at Culture Perth and Kinross, delve into the bold and distinctive work of the Scottish Colourists with Alice Strang, award-winning art historian and curator. Together, they will explore the important legacy of these artists and share perspectives and insights that shape how we understand this remarkable group. This event will also offer a glimpse behind the scenes of staging a major exhibition, as they discuss the journey from idea to negotiating loans, displaying the work and opening to the public.

     

    Blending art history, behind the scenes expertise and lively discussion, this talk promises to be a fascinating exploration of colour and creativity.
