Exhibition Catalogue

The RSA Annual Exhibition is the prestigious highlight of our year-round exhibition programme and represents our commitment to supporting excellence in the visual arts in Scotland. Available to view both entirely online and in the magnificent surroundings of the Playfair-designed galleries at the Royal Scottish Academy, the exhibition is the best opportunity to view and purchase works across the breadth of contemporary art in Scotland.

Now in its 199th year, the RSA Annual Exhibition provides a platform for contemporary painting, sculpture, film, printmaking, photography and installation, alongside work by some of the country's leading architects. This year's Convenor is Lennox Dunbar RSA, assisted by Architecture Convenor Robin Webster RSA.

The RSA Open Exhibitions of Art and Architecture figure centrally in the RSA Annual Exhibition. These open exhibition elements feature a diverse range of works thoughtfully selected from online submissions by artists and architects at all stages of their careers.

Memorial works by Andrew Merrylees RSA and Ian Howard RSA will also be on display.

The RSA Annual Exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to purchase and collect artworks in a wide range of media and styles. We are a proud partner of the Own Art scheme, allowing you purchase artwork in 10 monthly interest-free instalments.

We are grateful to all our external award givers who support contemporary art and architecture in Scotland.

We would like to extend a very special thank you to LGT Wealth Management for sponsoring the 199th RSA Annual Exhibition and exhibition catalogue, to Culture & Business Scotland for also sponsoring the exhibition catalogue and to Bonhams for their sponsorship of our opening reception.
