Artist Talk with Sam Ainsley RSA

22 September 2022
Tickets £8 | £6 concession | free for RSA Friends (please bring your Friends membership card with you) 6.00 - 7.00 pm

We are pleased to welcome Sam Ainsley to talk about her exhibition Stories Real and Imagined. Sam will give a tour of the exhibition, exploring the concepts and themes behind her work.

Sam Ainsley approaches her work as a form of ‘emotional mapping’ which looks to uncover relationships between natural phenomena, the human body and the human condition. Influenced by feminism, film, politics and poetry, Ainsley’s work often considers ‘how we might bridge the gap between women’s experience of the world and that of men’.

Ainsley is renowned as a prominent spokesperson for the importance of the visual arts in Scotland and from 1991 to 2005 she was the Director of the Master of Fine Art programme at Glasgow School of Art.

A glass of wine is included in the ticket price.

* Please note that this event has been rescheduled from 15 September to 22 September due to the scheduled RMT strike.
