'I spent my time at Portcullis House looking a lot and taking photographs throughout various parts from the atrium to the several levels upstairs with their many window views. It was a fascinating new visual experience full of great images and a small suite of prints is how ideally I would have chosen to respond. However, through a rain-dropped window on a dark grey January day I glimpsed what I thought was one of the most definitive images of Portcullis House. There were two of the huge chimneys with part of an older nearby red brick traditional chimney peeping over the roof and strangely the wheel of the London Eye with its airborne passengers and one empty frame gondola – turning slowly in the winter sky beyond those great chimneys.'
