The artist: "Due to Covid travel restrictions I have kept my native tree subjects local to where I live in East Sutherland; I walk or ride my bike to my drawing destination where my etching plates are worked directly onsite.
For 'Alasdair’s Pine, Ardshave', this Scots Pine is much treasured by fifth generation crofter Alasdair Ross, at Balvraid, near Dornoch. To me this tree is symbolic of our contemporary world; it is nature’s Atlas."
