Erica Eyres (b. 1980, Winnipeg, Canada) lives and works in Glasgow. Through videos, drawings, paintings and sculptures, Eyres’ work uses found images and objects to explore the unreliability of autobiography and the artist’s subjective truth. Solo shows include Memory Problems at Norberg Hall, Calgary (2025); No One Knows I’m Dying at Turntable Gallery, Grimsby (2024); Dancing for Dummies at Blinkers Gallery, Winnipeg; Do I Have to Love You? at OTP Copenhagen (2023); and Another Dirty Room at Celine, Glasgow (2022). Group shows include Blusher at Leicester Art Gallery (2025); Toadstools at Helen’s Costumes, Portland (2024); Secret Signals with Keith Boadwee at OTP, Copenhagen (2021); and Private Behaviour at White Columns, New York (2021).
The RSA residency in 2009 allowed me to develop a new video work, Pam’s Dream. The opportunity gave me space in which to film the work and to work with the actors, which was something I had previously not been able to do. I went on to screen the work as part of a solo exhibition in 2010, and there was a subsequent screening in Winnipeg in 2011.
