As well as being a series of individual sculptures, the Table of Maquettes has been worked upon as a single artwork. Each piece is a proposal for a sculpture on a much larger scale. Most are imagined as large, or two to three times as large, as the table itself. The stones used are basalts, granites, porphyry, limestone and marble.

The sculptures themselves evolve from things seen, experienced or imagined. Some develop from investigative drawing or as tangents from pieces previously made. Some simply emerge from the process of making and working with stone. Stone, the matrix of the planet, its geological formation, erosion and deposition and how it has formed our contemporary physical landscapes is of significance in these works, as are the archaeological traces, monuments and tools that evidence that evolution.

Please enquire for further information about commissioning sculptures.
