Sir John James Burnet RSA 1857-1870

John James Burnet RSA was born in Glasgow on March 31st 1857. His father was also John Burnet, an accomplished architect in his own right Burnet junior carried out his training in Paris, and much of what he observed and learnt there was to be used in his subsequent practise. In later life he also carried out extensive study visits to both Italy and the United States of America. He rarely sketched his plans on a large scale, preferring to put down his initial ideas on a very small scale....
