    RSA200:Life Drawing Programme

Tutored Workshops with George Donald RSA

As part of the Royal Scottish Academy’s 200th anniversary celebrations throughout 2026, we are working with partners across Scotland and beyond to shine a spotlight on the Academy’s past, present and future.

Integral to the RSA’s history is the Academy’s Life School at The Mound in Edinburgh, where fine art - including life drawing - was taught until the formation of Edinburgh College of Art in 1907 (and from where the Life School continued to function until 1930).

To highlight this, we are working with artist George Donald RSA to deliver a series of one-day life drawing classes during 2026 with our following RSA200 Celebrating Together Partners:

13 June: OutPost Arts - Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries

19 June: Hugo Burge Foundation - Earlston Creative Spaces Building, Scottish Borders

13 August: An Tobar, Tobermory, Mull

15 August: An Ealdhain Arts Trust, Fort William, Inverness-shire

20 September: Shetland Arts - Mareel, Lerwick, Shetland

26 September: The Pier Arts Centre, Stromness, Orkney
