Mrs Jay and W. Gordon Smith: Art Collection

A unique catalogue celebrating the art collection of Mrs Jay and W Gordon Smith, produced to coincide with the 2021 exhibition of their collection at Open Eye Gallery, Edinburgh.

Honouring their lives and showcasing their eclectic collection of 160 artists, this publication was designed to appear as a reference book. It is divided into alphabetical sections with short biographies and artworks, and features typewritten exhibition reviews revealing the unique relationship between artist and collector.

In 2021, a new Bequest was gifted to the Royal Scottish Academy from the Estate of Mrs Jay Gordon Smith. The W Gordonsmith and Jay Gordon Smith Bequest gives additional support to the RSA Residencies for Scotland programme.
