Ushida Findlay: Future-rustic
As part of the RSA’s 200th anniversary celebrations, V&A Dundee will present a display celebrating architect Kathryn Findlay, the first female architect elected to the Royal Scottish Academy. This display brings together rare materials from the Ushida Findlay archive, showcasing the pioneering collaboration she formed with Eisaku Ushida and tracing the evolution of her architectural career.
Known for their bold imagination and fluid, organic forms, Ushida Findlay’s experimental work pushed the geometries of architecture. From early concept drawings to models and project documents, the display offers a unique look at how the partnership combined art, science, and landscape to create spaces unlike anything seen before.
Discover the creativity, curiosity and courage that shaped Findlay’s practice and celebrate her important contribution to architecture, as a collaborator and an innovator, whose ideas continue to inspire architects today.
The exhibition will include Kathryn Findlay RSA's Model for Art Foundation, Qatar on loan from the RSA.
