The Gordon Highlanders Museum is honored to be displaying the easel of Sir George Reid PPRSA to celebrate the RSA's 200th Anniversary.

The Gordon Highlanders Museum is situated inside St Luke's, a building almost as old as The Regiment it celebrates, dating back to 1800. Originally a farm house, and eventually a coffee merchant's home, the building was bought by Sir George Reid PRSA in 1876. Renamed St Luke's after the Patron Saint of Art and Artists, the building acted as a painters haven for George, his brother and several other artists.

The Gordon Highlanders Museum is honored to have Sir George Reid's easel on loan to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the RSA. The easel will be on display within an original section of the building, which features his, and others' paintings.

    About The Gordon Highlanders Museum

The Gordon Highlanders Museum serves to tell the 200 year story of the North East's most famous military regiment: The Gordon Highlanders. A line infantry regiment formed in 1794 and taking its leave in 1994, The Gordon Highlanders were a tremendous fighting force that saw action in several major global conflicts, including the Napoleonic Wars, both World Wars, and countless tours of duty during The Cold War. The Museum is proud to be one of Aberdeen's most recognised and enjoyed visitor attractions, receiving national and international recognition as a highly regarded site to visit.
