MONO PRINT/STEREO SOUND

Two RSA artists: Joe Fan RSA and Ade Adesina RSA, work in partnership towards the realisation of a series of new monoprints in 2026.

Joe Fan hails from Hong Kong. Ade Adesina is from Nigeria. Both artists moved to Scotland and studied at Grays School of Art. Both artists are elected members of the Royal Scottish Academy. Both artists live and work in the city of Aberdeen, their studios are neighbours.

Both artists have developed a unique language, to talk about their practise. Both have made prints as part of Peacock's publishing programme. Working in prints has introduced each to a plural practise. Ade is currently employed by Peacock as a studio technician. In direct collaboration with Joe Fan, Ade will assist Joe in the preparation and printing of mono prints. On learning and mirroring Ade's publishing skills, in turn Joe will assist Ade in the preparation and printing of Ade's mono prints.

At the heart of the project lies partnership. artist supporting artist, a sharing of knowledge and skills, guiding principles of both Peacock and the RSA.

This will be a live project. In our open access studio, an audience can observe the exchange and outcome.

    About Peacock

Since 1974, Peacock - a workshop for art (previously Peacock Printmakers & Peacock Visual Arts) has supported thousands of artists in the production of artworks, ranging from prints to video works, photography, performance and site-specific public installations. At its core lies the idea of the multiple - work that can be reproduced in a variety of formats, analogue and digital, reconfiguring the relationship between the artist, the artwork and the audience, which can be outlined simply as making, learning and showing. Our organisation is supported by Aberdeen City Council and Creative Scotland.
