George Donald RSA: Tutored Life Drawing Workshop
Mareel Auditorium

Date to be announced

Integral to the RSA’s history is the Academy’s Life School at The Mound in Edinburgh, where fine art, including life drawing, was taught until the formation of Edinburgh College of Art in 1907 (from where the Life School continued to function until 1930). To highlight this, the RSA is working with artist George Donald RSA to deliver a series of one-day life drawing classes across Scotland in 2026. George will deliver a workshop in Mareel in the summer of 2026, date to be announced.

Mareel - Shetland Arts' flagship venue was designed by Hoskins Architects, founded by Gareth Hoskins RSA (Elect).

    About Shetland Arts

Shetland Arts is the lead arts organisation for Shetland and a registered charity, supported by Creative Scotland and Shetland Charitable Trust. We bring creativity to life across the islands through visual art, craft, film, music, drama and digital media. Our venues include Mareel, a lively music, cinema and arts centre in Lerwick, Bonhoga Gallery, and other local spaces. We also support schools, communities and practising artists, offering opportunities for everyone to explore, enjoy and take part in the arts.
