Version Galore 3

Version Galore is a partnership between Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) and the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA). It challenges ECA students to respond creatively to artworks from the RSA Collection, with the results exhibited at Fire Station Creative in Dunfermline. The project celebrates the expansive and evolving nature of the RSA Collection and its presence across Scotland.

Third-year students will each select a work from the collection as a starting point for their own artistic response, expanding their learning while engaging with the cultural resources of the RSA and Fire Station Creative. Established almost 200 years ago, the RSA Collection holds over 10,000 artworks, stored when not exhibited at its Granton facility. Students will have the opportunity to explore this remarkable collection as a resource for research and inspiration.

Fire Station Creative is a distinctive gallery housed in a converted Art Deco fire station in the heart of Dunfermline, providing an inspiring context for the exhibition.

Versions Galore forms part of ECA’s Sites & Situations course, which invites third-year students to create work in response to specific places and contexts in Edinburgh and beyond.
