Intermediate Award - First Prize Winner.
The artist: "I created this piece of work for an assignment in my art class, and I never expected it to turn out as well as it did, considering this was my first etching experience. I really enjoyed making it and personalizing it with the non-binary flag in the background, even if the etching was not in colour. It felt good to have a piece of my identity in with my face, as it made me feel better about making the etching from a photograph, since I usually don’t turn out very well in them. Receiving the message about winning something for a project that I was unsure about making since I thought it would turn out bad made me feel very happy and proud of myself for achieving this."
