Upon finishing my portrait, I felt proud of my efforts. Using the most basic of utensils, I managed to capture a sense of sorrow and loneliness. For me, art is a way of releasing an inner anxiety felt by being neurodivergent in a growing, yet complex world.
I would like to thank Miss Graham for entering my portrait and believing it worthy. I would also like to thank the judges for picking my piece as a winner. I was very surprised and thrilled to learn that my portrait had won first prize, and I look forward to continuing my passion at Firrhill High School, with the support and encouragement of a fantastic art department.
