From the artist: I aimed to create a modern interpretation of a baroque still life using oil paints on canvas. Using the chiaroscuro style in presenting a messy modern kitchen, I merged old and contemporary elements. Receiving the award has greatly boosted my confidence in my work and opened my eyes to new artistic possibilities.
