This self-portrait represents my ‘present self’ and is a pencil study that focuses on proportions, tones, and shapes. It is an honour to have my piece recognised as Highly Commended in the RSA Schools Art Awards intermediate category. As a perfectionist, I often struggle to feel satisfied with my work, so receiving this award has been a real confidence boost. It has encouraged me to trust the process of creating art and has motivated me to continue doing what I love.
