From the artist: I really like drawing. When I’m bored, I take the pencil or pen that’s usually in my hand and start drawing eyes, noses and mouths. Drawing helps me relax and unwind.

While I was thinking of ideas for the RSA competition, I thought about the blank expression when people scroll on their phones. Scrolling on social media without a real purpose, and not finding fulfilment in anything they see. I tried to capture that feeling. I want people to remember that there’s so much more to life than just what’s on their phone screen. So I drew my piece.
