James Stevenson was an Edinburgh based painter in oil and watercolour. He was one of the founding members of the Royal Scottish Academy.
His work primarily focussed on landscapes in Perthshire, the Lothians, Dumfriesshire, and occasionally Wales and seascapes on the east coast.
