Christopher Ivor Adam (b. 1999, Paisley) graduated from DJCAD in May 2025. He received an SSA New Graduate Award, the Alan Woods Memorial Prize, the Art Angel Award, a solo exhibition at Osteria BauBau and the Edinburgh Printmakers’ Award at the SSA’s 127th Annual Exhibition in early 2026. His undergraduate thesis, Prospects for the Cave of Gold: Scottish Gaelic in Contemporary Art, received the dissertation prize from Generator Projects and will be featured in a forthcoming publication by the organisation.

 

Adam makes paintings, prints, songs and films about fellow Gaelic learners, conspiracy theorists and traditional styles of singing, among many other things. He writes cryptic crosswords for The Times and Financial Times under the name ‘Magnum’.
