Edith Niel is a multi-disciplinary artist from Glasgow who studied at Edinburgh College of Art. Now based in Glasgow, Edith works across a number of different media forms, including painting, writing and performance art. Her work often comments on the social impact of, and her own personal interest in, sexuality and performed sexual realities in the modern and digital world.
Slash is a performance work which examines the digital performance of sexuality, chatroom discoveries and the blurring of distinctions between the ‘Online self’ and the ‘Offline self’.
The work contains explicit language, as well as sexually suggestive themes and positioning.
