Emelie Christina Fraser is a graduate of the Mackintosh School of Architecture, where she was awarded the Chairman’s Medal for Architecture. She is also the recipient of the RIAS Rowand Anderson Silver Medal and the 3D Reid Student Prize.
Her academic work is focused on addressing complex social and ethical issues through emotive, poetic and symbolic architecture. These interests are embodied in her final-year thesis, O Parque dos Mortos, which explores how architecture can support the transition between life and death. Her work is driven by a belief in architecture’s ability to create thought-provoking, symbolic and meaningful spaces.
Emelie continues to explore these themes both through independent research and within practice where she is currently working at Foster + Partners in London.
