Leena Nammari RSA (Elect) is a Palestinian artist residing in Scotland. She is a master printmaker, specialising in various printmaking techniques.
Though her work predominantly centres around printmaking, she is passionate about all forms of making, from bronze casting, ceramics, embroidery to filmmaking.
She worked for a number of years as studio technician at Edinburgh Printmakers, and latterly as studio coordinator, working closely with members, artists, visitors, tutoring, assisting, chatting, and making her own work.
Her Palestinian heritage has always been the essential backdrop to her work, using a variety of processes, embodying a kind of visual storytelling that touches on the everyday, the neglected spaces, cloaking her work with touches of tangible heart-aching nostalgia, reflecting her need to connect with home, and constantly searching for the idea of belonging.
