Georgia Gardner is a Scottish Artist and Researcher based in Edinburgh. She graduated with an MA in Fine Art from ECA in 2021. That year, along with RSA New Contemporaries, she was awarded an Edinburgh Futures Institute Student Research Award and Visual Arts Scotland Graduate Showcase Award. She is also exhibiting in Format Festival 2023.

Gardner’s practice navigates resistance and recovery, prioritising the body to find grounding and personal authority. Employing direction, music composition, choreography, and video, she embraces plurality and ambivalence, centring embodiment to engage in quiet, introspective rebellion.

Body Memo and They Move in Three Second Phrases, Glowing. explore memory, narrative, and touch. Layers of direction are revealed throughout the works, existing as internal embodied scores and interpersonal cues. The projects cite the psychological hypotheses of haptic memory and kinaesthetic empathy, bearing witness to partial narratives which unfold through touch, research-led composition, and stillness.
