  • How did the experience affect you as an individual? The scholarship gave me the confidence and opportunity to explore drawing...

Rahella Khan, Eking out the last rays, 2019, etching and aquatint

How did the experience affect you as an individual?

The scholarship gave me the confidence and opportunity to explore drawing and creative thought in a way I have never experienced before, or since.

What was the impact on your practice?

This experience impacted the way I thought - I began to think and explore through drawing.

  • What would you say the long term impact has been on yourself and you work? I am now a printmaker....

Raheela Khan-Fitzgerald, The Bells Are Calling Me, 2018, etching and aquatint print on paper, 24.5 x 39 cm. RSA Collection

What would you say the long term impact has been on yourself and you work?

I am now a printmaker. I previously would not have pursued printmaking and drawing in the way I have since the scholarship. I have continued the practice and way of thought I discovered during the scholarship both in the print studio and in my day to day work in architecture.
