The Royal Scottish Academy supports art and architecture in Scotland. Founded in 1826, we are an independent, non-governmental charitable institution led by our Academicians.

Royal Scottish Academicians are prominent artists and architects elected by their peers who govern the RSA on a democratic basis.

We believe that creativity in art and architecture is valuable to the nation.

George’s abstract paintings express the textures and sounds of nature, the magic of the Highland landscape and the warmth of Gaelic song and dance; elements garnered from the artist’s childhood near the River Shin. An esteemed accordionist, George developed his painting in tandem with his talent for music and allowed the movement and traditions of both artforms to interplay within his work.
