"I am a RIBA Part II Architecture Graduate from the Mac of The Glasgow School of Art.
This project is my final year thesis during my fifth year. It is a provocative proposition located at Antwerp that may be happening in a foreseen-able future.
“A provocation and provisions, on the future of Antwerp’s urban fabrics. The conservation of the tangibles and intangibles is questioned, as if the city is totally flooded, in an apocalyptical state due to human deeds on the environments.”
Therefore, how an architecture intervention could play a part in the flood-prone context of Antwerp, as well as minimizing the loss of the urban fabrics against the potential, incoming apocalypse within the next few centuries?
The thesis is heavily influenced by the mythology “Noah’s Ark”, a vessel that carries the important beings against the disasters. The Ark is a story-based construction that preserve the tangibles, intangibles and response to the needs of the people from time to time, which eventually evolved in 7 phases in a time-span of 200 years, and a final endgame against the apocalypse."
