Jannette Kerr HRSA is a painter who, through her practice, has sought to imbed herself in land/seascapes, focusing on the heritage of an historical relationship with land and sea, as well as engaging with oceanographic language through open dialogues with Norwegian oceanographers studying the unpredictability of waves and wind.
Janette Kerr PPRWA, HRSA: I have a long-standing history of showing work, exhibiting regularly across the UK and abroad; my work is held in national and international collections.
I have worked on residencies in Svalbard, Shetland, Norway, Somerset, Wales, and Ireland. I have curated high profile exhibitions and accompanying programmes, have a strong track record of initiating/working collaboratively on successful projects and obtaining funding – most recently a Creative Scotland funded collaborative project Confusing Shadow with Substance on Shetland. I am frequently invited to give talks/presentations to groups ranging from art societies and businesses, to academics, school pupils and art students.
