JULIAN HUNTER

John Kinross Scholar in 1986

Julian Hunter, Caledonian Crescent Auchterarder, Perthshire

How did the experience affect you as an individual?
The Scholarship was a great opportunity to become fully absorbed and focussed on the architecture and culture of Florence and its surrounds.

As an individual it allowed me to develop my skills of observation and recording the built environment.

What was the impact on your practice?
The main impact was being able to focus on developing my sketching and drawing skills, which are an invaluable tool to experiencing places.

What would you say the long-term impact has been on yourself and you work?
The long term impact is difficult to define, however I believe that the experience has been greatly beneficial to my work as an Architect.
