Music for the Festive Season

Music for the Festive Season

In place of our usual Carol Concert we are holding an intimate evening with the Skotebi Male Choir, supported the very talented Rosa Davidson from the Edinburgh Clarsach Society. The Carol Concert will return next year during the RSA Annual Exhibition, being held in the Galleries in December. Skotebi are a group of Scottish men who have fallen in love with Georgian traditional music and aspire to sing it with as much heart and authenticity as they can. They are the only all-male Georgian choir in the UK. The group was founded in 2009 and have learned their repertoire from a number of leading Georgian musicians and experienced teachers. In 2012 members of the group travelled to Georgia to perform as part of the Art Gene festival in Tbilisi. The first non-Georgian group to be invited to take part! They regularly perform in Edinburgh and throughout Scotland to an enthusiastic and dedicated audience. Skotebi will perform traditional songs from across Georgia, including music regularly sung at Christmas. The songs chosen will showcase the incredible harmonies and rich tapestry of sounds that are typical of this style of music.
