Gallery Tour – James Castle: First Light

Gallery Tour – James Castle: First Light

We are delighted to be sticking a cautious toe in the water and welcome RSA Friends back to the galleries for the first “live” event  in over 18 months.

Tour 11 am – 12 noon by donation on the day.

James Castle will lead a tour of his exhibition First Light and discuss his practice, themes and influences .

James Castle is a Scottish sculptor living and working in Wiltshire. Looking to the natural world, Castle’s sculptures are often carved from limewood and then painted. He typically uses animals as a metaphor for the human condition, owing to ‘the fact that we like to bestow these creatures with the same kind of emotions as our own’. This exhibition includes new bronzes and jesmonite sculptures, as well as Castle’s evocative drawings.

Places are limited so do book early to avoid disappointment.

RSA Friends only event.
