<h1><font color="#FFFFFF" ><b><font color="#000000">THE ALASTAIR SALVESEN ART
SCHOLARSHIP </font></b></font> </h1>
<p>The Alastair Salvesen Art Scholarship, sponsored by the Alastair Salvesen Trust
in association with the Royal Scottish Academy, is a major initiative intended
to encourage young painters who have already made the transition from college
to a working environment. <br>
<br>
The scholarship consists of two parts : <br>
<br>
1. a 3-6 months' travel scholarship of up to £10,000 depending on the plan submitted
;<br>
<br>
2. an exhibition, lasting about three weeks, to take place in November/December
in a gallery to be provided by the Royal Scottish Academy. <br>
<br>
The scholarship for 2001 has already been awarded. Application forms for the
2002 award will be available from the RSA in November. </p>
