THE RSA hosts some of the most innovative, experimental and ambitious exhibitions of contemporary art in Scotland today with the aim of promoting emerging talents in the visual arts and making these works accessible to the public.
Our work relies entirely on private funding from individuals, companies and trusts and foundations since the RSA does not receive any government support. The RSA is a registered charity (SC004198) which means that your donation may be tax deductible.
You can support the RSA in a number of ways:
Single Donations
If you wish to make a single donation to the RSA, please fill in our downloadable donation form and send it together with a cheque made payable to ‘The Royal Scottish Academy’ to the address below. Remember that if you are a UK taxpayer, you can utilise Gift Aid to make your donation tax-effective. Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get an extra 28p from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation to go further. In addition to using Gift Aid, higher rate UK taxpayers can claim personal tax relief (equivalent to 23p for every £1 given) on all charitable donations.
Regular Giving
If you wish to support the RSA on a more regular basis, you can fill in the downloadable Banker’s Order which allows you to make donations on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. Again, you can use Gift Aid to make your donation tax-effective (for more details see ‘Single Donations’)
Leaving a Legacy
Often we are unable to support a cause as much as we wish during our life time. Remembering the RSA in your will is a unique way of securing the future of Scottish contemporary art and artists.
On a more practical level, leaving a gift in your will- be it the residue of your estate after family and friends have been provided for or a specific amount- could also reduce your inheritance tax liability.
We would like to thank you for considering leaving a legacy to the RSA. If you wish to receive more information on remembering the RSA in your will or would like to discuss your wishes further, please do not hesitate to contact Colin Greenslade by email: colingreenslade@royalscottishacademy.org
