Born Prestonpans, E Lothian. Educated at Preston Lodge Senior Secondary School. Trained at Edinburgh College of Art - 1962-66. Past President of SSA & Member of RSW. Painter in oil & watercolour; landscape and figurative works.

Work in various National & Private Collections - HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, Robert Fleming & Co., 1st National Bank of Chicago, Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh City Collection, Perth Art Gallery. Elected President of SSA in 1978. Married with 3 children. Resident in Berwickshire.
   Awards
Gillies Travel Award, Maude Gemmel Hutchison Award - RSA, Gillies Award - RSW, Royal Academy - David Murray Landscape Award. Andrew Grant Scholarship - 1963. While in London awarded the David Murray landscape scholarship from the RA. in 1968. Travelling scholarship to visit Italy in 1969.
