Ages of Wonder: Drawing from the Self – A Reflection on a Reflection

Ages of Wonder: Drawing from the Self – A Reflection on a Reflection

Live Drawing Performace
2-4pm each Friday during the Exhibition
Gallery 7, RSA Upper Galleries, Open to the public

Artist Rachael Bibby draws live in Gallery 7 from her work, Reflect, Study of a face perceiving itself – a self-portrait created almost 5 years previous, in April 2013.

‘In creating a self-portrait the artist attempts to bridge a number of divides; the divide between the self and the perception of the self, the divide between this perception and its representation and the divide between the representation and the audience’ Sandy Wood RSA Collections Curator. EGO exhibition 2013.

Working from a LCD screen, in place of a mirror, the Artist interrogates her past self and the act of looking. Recording and enquiring further into the nature of the looking/performing face.

Please note there will be filming in progress.
